Classic Quinta near Lagos

Self-catering holiday rental villa with seaview, pool area, privacy

A traditional quinta in the hills near Lagos, Western Algarve, Portugal

The Classic Quinta, is unusually rich in plant species. A quick inventory shows up well over 100 unique species - not all of them represented here on account of problems of identification. Roughly 80 of the species in the list below were planted by the owners. Several species are represented by striking examples. Humble in nature, but with a stately posture, Acanthus, seen here, is a mediterranean classic since antiquity.
