A traditional quinta in the hills near Lagos, Western Algarve, Portugal
Frontal view, showing roughly half of the villa. This was taken in early summer, when the bougainvillea is at its most showy. The shade tree, with its elegant feathery leaves, is an Alibizia julibrisin - here still budding, promising a shower of fluffy pink flowers all through the summer.
